International travel returns to Broom with Jetstar Asia

Jetstar Asia has announced the launch of direct flights from Broome to Singapore, marking the return of international air travel to Broome Airport after the COVID pandemic. The seasonal service, scheduled from June 25 to October 26, 2024, will offer two return flights per week and is set to resume in April 2025.

Fares for this new route start from $145 one-way, with bookings opening at 10 am on Thursday. Tourism Minister Rita Saffioti praised the initiative as a significant breakthrough, highlighting the potential to boost international visitor numbers to Australia's North West and provide a new gateway to Western Australia.

Jetstar Asia, a low-cost carrier based at Changi Airport, is majority-owned (51%) by Singaporean company Westbrook Investments, with the remaining 49% held by the Qantas Group, which operates Jetstar Airways. This new route adds to Changi Airport's connections with Australia, with Broome becoming the eighth Australian city offering direct flights to Singapore.

CEO of Jetstar Asia, John Simeone, emphasized the carrier's commitment to offering diverse destinations and incredible travel experiences, noting Broome as an amazing holiday destination just over four hours away from Singapore.

Lim Ching Kiat, Executive Vice President of Changi Airport Group, highlighted that Broome now joins seven other Australian cities with direct flights to Singapore, with the upcoming Perth to Singapore services by Jetstar adding more travel options between Western Australia and Singapore, as well as connections to other cities in the region.
